Day 5

Day 1

  1. Drive to Gergeti Church (2,200 m).
  2. Horses carry group gear.
  3. Optional (extra fee): a horse for personal gear (booked the day before).
  4. Hike to base camp at 3,650 m (6–7 hours).
  5. Optional (extra fee): extra acclimatization day (+1) at Altihut (3,100 m).
  6. Stay at Betlemi Hut shelter: restrooms and kitchen available.
  7. Dinner at Betlemi Hut (cooked by the group).

Day 2

  1. Breakfast at the base camp (cooked by the group).
  2. Hike to 4,000–4,200 m for glacier training.
  3. Practice: rope team travel, crampons, and ice axe self-arrest.
  4. Return to base camp.
  5. An early dinner at base camp (cooked by the group).
  6. Summit backpack prep, thermos ready, early rest (18:00 - 19:00).

Day 3

  1. Light breakfast (cooked by the group) at 01:00, summit push starts around 02:00.
  2. At ~4,000 m: crampons on, rope up.
  3. Cross plateau (4,500 m), saddle (4,900 m), climb the final 45° slope.
  4. Summit stop for photos, then descend to base camp.
  5. Dinner (cooked by the group) and rest at base camp.
  6. Hire a guide for a second summit attempt.

Day 4

  1. Extra day for bad weather or acclimatization.
  2. If unused: a short hike or improve alpinist skills.
  3. Optional (extra fee): A cooking class at Stepantsminda. A wine tour and a night in Kakheti.

Day 5

  1. Optional (extra fee): a horse for personal gear (booked the day before).
  2. Descent to Gergeti Church (2,200 m).
  3. Transfer to Stepansminda.
  4. Optional (extra fee): cooking class in Stepantsminda, Kakheti wine tour, etc
