What you will see
The best viewpoints for Mestia’s top sights
  • We start early, at 5:00. As we step into the fields, a sea of fog opens before us, slowly dissolving into the distance.
  • The first sunrise light paints the Svaneti Range in a striking coral glow.
  • The twin peaks of Ushba and the crown of Chatintau seem almost unreal in their colors — blue, pink, violet, and soft purple tones flowing into one another through the morning mist.
  • Dolrakora — the window of the goddess Dali — is slowly veiled in a web of thin golden lines.
  • It is not fully dawn yet, and the light feels disorienting: grey and blue, with the pale sun still hidden somewhere behind Banguriani Mountain.
